Hillbilly Hump Day (Episode 5 Code Enforcement)

Happy Hump Day seekers!  Sorry I missed my hillbilly post last week.  Hopefully everyone enjoyed hearing about my penguin and his birthday instead!  Besides, I really didn't have anything of significance, in regards to the hillbillies, to write about.  I really haven't been paying too much attention to the them lately.  No, I've been too wrapped up in my own world to notice.  Plus I don't want to write about the hb's unless I have something to say.  I don't want to bore you guys!

If you follow me on Twitter (BuffeesTruth) then you may have seen my tweet about the trash day being so disgusting on Monday.  If not, no worries, I didn't go into details.  I live in the Riverside, a historical district.  (Yes, I know I've told you that before).  We have codes to follow here.  If you don't follow such codes, then you're subject to code enforcement and fines!  I'm not sure how this works in other cities.  I honestly didn't even know there was such a thing until I moved here!  (Before that I lived in an apartment, and before that I lived in the sticks, no one cared).  Our code enforcement aren't really strict or anything of that nature.  It's not like they're out patrolling the neighborhood or anything like that.  I'm almost positive someone actually has to call and complain report you, before code enforcement shows up.  But piss off the wrong person, and you can find yourself in a heap of trouble and paying some pretty hefty fines!

In our neighborhood/city we're supposed to have our garbage in trash cans, to be picked up.  Again, I don't know how this works in other cities?  When I lived in my apartment the garbage truck guys really didn't care.  So after our trash cans were stolen, twice, we stopped buying them!  (We lived next to the hood!  Apparently they liked our trash cans)!  But over here in Riverside it's a different story.  I'd be willing to guess if you placed a couple of neatly closed trash bags out over here, no one would really mind, not even the trash guys.  Seriously I wouldn't have any issues with it.  (There's the leash law, no stray or roaming dogs to worry about).  But it's not my job, so I really don't know.  And the hillbillies, well, I doubt that they even know what the word 'neatly' means!

It's July, in Florida.  F-L-O-R-I-D-A!  The sunshine state.  And we've been having a heat wave.  (It's finally cooled off, but that's not the point I'm trying to make here).  The hb's seem to only set their trash out once every couple of weeks or so?  No, I'm so not kidding.  I have no idea where they stash all that trash, or why?  Maybe inside their house or in their shed?  These people are so friggin nasty, I don't even have words to describe that kind of nastiness (you've seen the pictures)!  Anyway, so on my way to work I'm blocked from leaving because the garbage truck is stopped infront of my house (my truck), along with their supervisor in a city vehicle.  (Oh snap)!  I can hear one of the garbage truck guys saying "see, I told you, it's like that all of the time"!  (If I told you the level of excitement and joy this brought me would you hold it against me)?

So I walked out to my truck and continued to listen.  The supervisor was on his radio, calling it in, saying "yeah, we're definitely going to need code enforcement out here, this place is a hell hole"!  (OMG, I'm not the only one)!  Mean while the garbage truck guys are refusing to pick up the 20 plus bags of trash and arguing over who's turn it is.  (No, I'm not kidding, it's that bad, they actually take turns picking up the hillbilly's trash).  TRASH, 20 plus bags of it, stinking to high heaven, covered in flies, and God only knows what else.  I wouldn't pick that shiz up either.  Noway, no how, not me, not ever!

So me, being me, walked up to the supervisor and started a conversation.  (evil grin)

Me: Good morning, is there a problem?
Supervisor: Sorry miss, it's your neighbors, we'll be out of your way in just a few minutes.
Me: No problem.
Supervisor: Is their trash always like this?
Me: Yes, when they finally put it out. (Just being honest people)!
Supervisor: Good Lord!
Me: Have you seen the back "deck"?
Supervisor: Are those holes in the deck?
Me: Yes!  Two giant ones, those aren't safe, especially not with children!
Supervisor: Is the window missing too?
Me: Yes, it's been missing for weeks now and there's glass all over from when it broke. (I'm so going to hell)!
Supervisor: What's wrong with these people?
Me: Um, hillbillies?
*laughter*
Supervisor: Well I've called code enforcement, they're coming out, hopefully they'll get this place cleaned up soon!
Me: Thank you!
Supervisor: Next time just call and report them!
Me: I'll keep that in mind!

He did end up making those poor trash guys pick up all that nastiness.  Honestly, that might have been where I would have drawn a line.  (Who am I kidding, I would never have that job to begin with.  Nope, not me, I'm too OCD, I could never handle all that trash)!  But I am most grateful for the guys that do.

That was Monday.  These pictures are from Tuesday.  The following day.  Less than 24 hours later. . .

I don't get it?  How in the heck do you hoard store that much TRASH?  They had 20 plus bags picked up the MORNING before this?  Seriously, what in the hell is wrong with these people?  Um, can anyone say HILLBILLIES??

Well there you have it Seekers!  Another Hillbilly Hump Day Episode!  Remember to love YOUR neighbors and be thankful they're not HILLBILLIES!  If they are, do tell!  I'd love to hear your stories!

Oh holy hell! How can you have that much trash? I can't believe it was you. I mean you didn't report them, but you certainly threw some gasoline on the little itty bitty fire!

I don't blame you though. They are just naaaaaaaaaassssss-tay!
